Want to hit your 2026 business goals without the burnout? Add these 4 small, doable habits to your routine so you are goal-focused all year long.
A new year.
A new planner.
A new (or revised) schedule or structure.
So much goes into planning your new year.
As you sit down to plan out your 2026 business goals, don’t miss these 4 crucial, but small habits.
From your friend the data nerd, they really could be the difference between smashing your 2026 goals out of the park or having a year like any other.
Habit #1: Track Your Finances 💸
Now, this doesn’t mean you have to go crazy.
But, you do need to know how your business is performing at a financial level.
🤔 You need to know if you’re generating a profit or constantly behind month after month.
🤔 You need to know which offer most of your revenue comes from.
🤔 You need to know what software, subscriptions, and memberships you’re paying for month after month.
🤔 You need to know if the revenue goals you’re setting up for your business are even realistic.
None of these things can happen until you are consistently tracking your income & expenses.
And once you know where your money is coming from and where it’s going?
➡️ You know what products to highlight (because they keep flying off the shelves).
➡️ You know what subscriptions to finally cancel (because you can’t forget about them when you write them down month after month).
➡️ You know when an investment is worth it to your business (because you know how much money your business is actually generating).
Which means you can make decisions quickly, easily, and without the guilt.

Habit #2: Add a Number to Your 2026 Goals 🏆
Having big 2026 business goals is fantastic.
But goals without numbers are vague statements that will never fully be met.
➡️ Take this goal for example:
In 2026, I will sell out my 1:1 offer.
This sounds great, and is a big goal to go after. But…until you provide some numbers around the goal, you will always be wondering “Did I make it? Have I “sold out” my offer?”
💥 Add a specific number to your goal to make what you’re shooting for crystal clear:
In 2026, I will sell out my 1:1 offer by having 5 clients and a waitlist with 3 people ready to sign.
Habit #3: Split Your Big Goal Into Smaller Ones 🔀
No one simply stumbles onto 5k or 6-figure months, completely selling out their offer before it goes live, or scheduling content a month in advance.
There is WORK that goes into achieving these big goals. And while that work can happen with some luck, why not structure your year out to help you naturally meet these goals (and help them seem a little less lofty in the process)?
➡️ Let’s keep with the same example goal: “In 2026, I will sell out my 1:1 offer by having 5 clients and a waitlist with 3 people ready to sign.”
Now, this business goal isn’t going to just “happen”. You won’t wake up one random day with 5 retainer clients & 3 people begging to be on your waitlist by showing up whenever you feel like it and posting reels of your cat.
So, you need to take this larger goal & break it down into quarterly or monthly “mini-goals”.
💡 For example, by Q1 your goal might be “I will sign 1 new retainer client & have 3 potential clients in my sales funnel.”
💡 Then, your Q2 goal becomes: “I will sign 2 new retainer clients (bringing your total to 3) & have 5 potential clients in my sales funnel.”
Not only do these “mini-goals” feel a little more achievable, but they also give you more success to celebrate throughout the year. 🎉
Habit #4: Set a Date 📆
Just like the best of relationships, you need to set aside time to invest in your business data.
And your numbers are the thing that is going to help you actually achieve those 2026 business goals you’ve been busy creating.
Because your numbers tell you what’s working, what’s struggling, and what’s worth your time.
But they can’t do that if you don’t make any time to talk (or listen) to what they are saying.
So, choose to be proactive this year. Choose to make 2026 the year that you prioritize your business data instead of letting it slide to the background.
Open your calendar and mark a date once a month to collect the data you need.
Again, this doesn’t have to be crazy. It can literally be the one number that matters for your goal – the number of retainer clients & potential clients in our example above.
Then, choose a DIFFERENT date once a month or quarter to analyze, interpret, and make decisions based on your numbers.
This is when you get to ask the fun question: What’s working? So you can answer “What should I be doing more of?”
And when that date arrives, don’t stand your numbers up. 😉
